Re: Parents attending scrimmages and watching practices

watching a high school team practice is ridiculous. The players make fum of the parents who attend, the coaches make fun of the parents who attend and the child is embarrassed. you are not doing anything good for your child and it is quite possible you are harming them, both as to their playing status on the team and their confidence and independence. Watch the scrimmages and the games and leave junior alone to their peers and their coaches during practices.

I leave directly from work to pick my kids up. No sense in going home. Maybe a half an hour early getting there. I watch practice. Am i bad?????

        no, this is quite common

I often go and watch and pick up drills to work on with my child separately. No one talks to the coach, other than "hi". If you're a parent who believes that there is a plot to against your child, perhaps you should stay and watch and find out that there isn't.

As a coach I don't have a problem with any parents watching my practice. What else are parents to do if they have to drive a distance to get their kids to practice. As long as there isn't any interruptions during the practice, I wouldn't see it being an issue
