    I just read the article. As bad as this sounds I understand why he did it and I think he should still be able to coach.

      Guess he'll be moving to MA soon to find another coaching position!

      I'd like to hear what the nay-sayers have to say about this. . . coaches never throw games (ala the earlier "fake injury" post).

        I hope you aren't saying that you agree with why he did it. I don't think this is enough to tar and feather the coach for life, he could be a great role model. But this story clearly speaks to the fact that some people think wins and losses at younger ages are more important than providing the right lessons. Kudos to the other coach for doing the right thing and having the right priorities.

          Do I understand this correctly? 2 teams from the same club are playing in the state cup. Coach A's team cannot advance, but Coach B's team can with a victory. Coach A allows Coach B to win, giving that team and players a chance to continue playing against better and better competition. Coach B is upset with this???

          What if Coach A said nothing? Would Coach B declare that the team is not good enough to continue playing?
