Something happened with that team and their coach left and they backed out of the game today. I'm not sure what the AB coach is looking for in a replacement team, but this could provide the public/private CT/Mass showdown some here are looking for. :)

Rather macho talk there, AB parent. Why not challenge the LC parent to a steel cage death match? That way, you can both prove how tough you are and leave the kids out of it.
Ummm - See the smiley face? It was a joke!!!! Probably making fun of some of the other posters here.

I would love to see Nobles play againest Framingham!!! The parents and the hired help side by side watching their children play, what fun.
Too bad BBN tied Acton-Boxboro 1-1 without their starting goalkeeper or centerback/captain. Add in the multiple injuries.

It was boys. The BBN and AB boys have had preseason scrimmages the last couple years.

BB&N did lose to Newton South High in scrimmage last week - sure both teams also included JV and bubble players as well. I believe they also won one of the games as well.
Rivers girls beat Marlboro last week in a scrimmage.
I am sure there are a lot of other scrimmages going on between ISL and public schools. These early season scrimmages don't mean much in the overall scheme of things or in terms of comparability as coaches are looking at players and all pre-season.
Good thread potentially here though - look forward to seeing how the season shapes up.
The BBN girls team has also beaten Dana Hall 6-0 and CRL 7-0 in the past week and a half. CRL was treated as a scrimmage too, as far as I know.

              Re: Independent School League

Given the interest in ISL high school on this board, and the difficulty telling the boys from the girls posts, I propose starting two new threads and continue posting in the appropriate gender.

BRAVO! Finally some words of wisdom instead of debating opinion and theory! Public or Private or Parochial-where are college coaches going to find the talent they seek? College showcase tournaments! Great players from all educational institutions play side by side on club teams and support each other's successes and failures. Perhaps it's time for the adults to do the same instead of fueling ridiculous (invented)competition!

Actually, it's the dap events that the college coaches are tending toward these days.

Spending that kind of money on an education is one of the best things you can give a child, if you have the means. If you want to spend that much for soccer, put your kid into MPS.

                    Re: Independent School League

Well let us know where they hold the DAP events for the other half of the population. Until then club tournaments are the only way to go.

Being from "the other half of the popluation" I guess my kid's choices are to head to a DAP or hang up his cleats! Neither is going to happen so I guess we'll just sit tight promoting education, sticking with our club and attending some great tournaments! I have to think at least ONE college coach may turn up to evaluate the kids. Not everyone WANTS to enter the Soviet Empire of Soccer, or some ISL schools are prohibiting, and coaches realize the compromise that comes with the DAP. In the end, it's a personal decision but that doesn't mean it's the best!

The point of the dap is that it isn't for the entire population.

For teams that play REAL soccer, having PGs on the opposing team shouldn't matter.
