    Independent School League

I noticed a thread for High School Soccer but the topic appears to be for public school soccer. If you want to see REAL soccer then the ISL is where it is at...played like it is supposed to be played as most of the teams are composed of a majority of upper eschelon travel club players. I'd certainly entertain a debate on this!

Anyway... any predictions/thoughts for 2008? Will Andover repeat in Class A or will Loomis re-emerge as champions? Will the Nobles girls team lose a game with a very mature team? What will happen with Rivers who has moved up to Class B and lost some key players?

Who are the strong teams on the boys side?

Didn't BBN Lose in a scrimmage to a midlevel public school team last week (not even a catholic conference team)

Didn't Milton also lose to another public school.

I would love to see Nobles play againest Framingham!!! The parents and the hired help side by side watching their children play, what fun.

Let the excuses roll in Rivers and other ISL people....

Not so sure it would be that entertaining, for you anyway. From the looks of it, they haven't played the way it should be played.

Rivers boys game against Framingham was even until both teams put in JV and bubble players from what I heard.
BB&N did lose to Newton South High in scrimmage last week - sure both teams also included JV and bubble players as well. I believe they also won one of the games as well.
Rivers girls beat Marlboro last week in a scrimmage.
I am sure there are a lot of other scrimmages going on between ISL and public schools. These early season scrimmages don't mean much in the overall scheme of things or in terms of comparability as coaches are looking at players and all pre-season.
Good thread potentially here though - look forward to seeing how the season shapes up.

Well...thats enough for me then. Original poster is right...beating Marlboro says it all.

Scrimages mean nothing. BB&N tied Needham 1-1 in a scrimage last week. Both coaches seemed to be experimenting with line ups so what does a goal against a mixed line up of back ups starters tell you? Nothing.

How's this? Enrollment for Framingham - 2148. Enrollment for Rivers School: 436

Does that statement reflect a public or private school education?

The Unwashed hordes of Framingham have an unfair advantage.

The average disposal income of parents at Rivers probably is a 5 to 1 advantage at least. I would bet 500 to 1

The Rivers' girls team is phenomenal and the coach is the best anywhere. You won't find a parent or player that has one complaint. Rivers soccer is tops!!!!!
