Why? The coaches who specialize in one gender or age group do it because they have found that they do best with that group. I have known plenty of coaches who were a disaster with one sex, and outstanding with the other. Many coaches are also terrific with a particular age group, and not so much with younger or older players. What we want is good coaches, not good gym teachers.

Why would someone in u11 choose not to enter?

Because they had beaten everyone at 8v8 playing in MAPLE last year. So they went to 12's to get a jump on 11v11, added more players to squad. The problem is switching back and forth from 8v8 to 11v11 back to 8v8. Who do you leave off the roster. Besides he looks like he qualified for the Paul Irwin Cup at for U12's allowing him to be at the big event, playing up, with all his players playing 11v11. best of both worlds for the team.
