Yes, I did notice and I am not surprised. I played against his team in a pre-season exhibition game and the man did not relent for one second from screaming (mostly in a foreign language...portuguese? spanish?) throughout the game.
I swear that in the next day when I emailed my team about upcoming practice schedules I made a side comment that my hearing was still recovering from the prior day's activities.
(Incidentally, my team scored a last second goal that prevented his team from advancing into the playoff game on goal differential and the organizers went out of their way to comment on how thankful they were for that so he would not be sticking around for another game).

Why just pick on this guy? Take a look at the entire boys group. It's a disgrace. What's going on over there at Pioneers?

This is the club mentality. It starts at U12 and goes up from there...boys and girls.
Rumor has it, Pioneers are folding and teams/coaches are going to Stars West I hope RL doesn't take the screamers from the Pioneers. However, not only has the talent pool been diluted by having multiple cluibs and leagues, but the number of quality coaches has not risen with the number of clubs.

As an aside, I find it funny how the Pioneers got dragged into this thread, but whatever~

NEP would seem to handle this differently than MAPLE:
In addition to the NEP League’s stated bylaws, rules and policies the NEP has introduced a code of ethics to cover the recruiting of players:
Coaches are not allowed to contact any players from another NEP club during regular season play. Contact may only be initiated by a coach during the stated time frame for try-outs.
If a player initiates contact with a coach during regular season play, the coach must ask the player if they are committed to another NEP club. If so, then the player will be asked to inform their current club of their intent to try-out for another club before any further action may be taken. Players may not attend training sessions as a "guest" whilst playing for another NEP club. The League expectation is that clubs will communicate clearly and honorably through this process.
NEP clubs are not allowed to acquire teams from another club within the NEP to bring into their own organization. Club mergers do not fall into this category.
NEP clubs will adopt a 12 month non-compete rule where a current NEP coach is employed by another NEP club. This means for 12 months the newly appointed coach cannot work in the same age and gender of his/her previous club unless the coach moves residence outside of the current region – or unless there is prior permission from the former club.
The official League date for contacting a player to try-out will be:
U10-11 - Tuesday, May 31, 2011 (or 1st day after Memorial Day)
U12-18 - Monday, June 13, 2011 (or 1st day after end of NEP season)
All NEP clubs will be allowed to hold try-outs on:
U10-11 - On or after June 1, 2011
U12-18 - On or after June 15, 2011

and today's NEP marketing message was brought to you by MPS . . .
This thread was about some coach at a tiny club in eastern MA who was carded for disgraceful behavior while coaching a U-10 team and a U-12 team - not about NEP and not about the Pioneers, their style of play or their collapse (imminent, rumored or otherwise).

I have played against this guy many times in friendlies and indoors this past winter. He is over the top competetive. He cares only about winning. He actually brought 13,14 and 15 year olds to play in a BU-12 tourney in Medford ,pre-season this year. What would he have gained had he actually made it out of the 1st round.
