So let me get this, Its okay for big clubs to put as many crappy teams as they want to in maple? but, if a small club/town wants to put a team in maple they can't. If maples cared about this why not only let 2 teams from each club in a single age group. Lets face big clubs have some real crappy teams and they are just money makers so maple will take their money not a small clubs money.

Maple was not advocating this. In fact I got an email from Maple warning me of the 4 club rule that Mass Youth Soccer was trying to impose on everyone. I have had some experience with forming club teams and creating 4 new teams is much easier said than done. You would have a hard time forming 4 teams if you let everyone play for free.

The league my town is in does not have a fall travel league. So If a coach wants to put a team in maple in the fall they could not? From what I am getting is that mysa is making kids go to bigger clubs and in the end spend more money. Also having at least 4 teams I'm not sure about field, having 4 teams do you have to have more than one field.

So what was the MYSA's arguement FOR the four team rule? Why was it suggested at all?

I've always wondered what exactly is the draw for paying serious money to be on the say, NEFC GU13 G team, or something along those lines. If they take everyone who breathes, wouldn't you think that at least half of these kids could find equally good, not to mention cheaper and more convenient, town teams? Most clubs only have two teams, A & B, ib each age bracket. How does NEFC and MPS get these people to write the check? And where the heck do they come from??

Supposedly because small clubs don't know how to file their paperwork to Mass Youth soccer properly.

MYSA wants only the big clubs. Heard this was mentioned actually at a league meeting by someone from MYSA.
