By disagreeing so strongly aren't you trying to convince all of us that the Stars or Scorpions are better than a R1PL team? Why are you thbe only one entitled to an opinion? Who isn't browbeating?

Did I say it was enlightened? Did I accuse someone of anything? I responded to BTDT's original posting to correct some factual and logical inaccuracies. How do you respond when you write something and have someone twist it to make a personal attack? If they could get beyond their knee jerk reaction and think about what I wrote they would realized that our opinions are pretty similar and I am not actually doing what they are accusing me of. I am not trying to frame this debate as one club against another or one league against another.

Maple has already posted some scores for those teams that notified them they will going to PDA. I'm assuming since nefc is also attending they will also be starting the season 0-1 just as many of the scorpion teams have done already.

Speaking of missed games, how is Maple going to handle those league games scheduled for May 22nd (during the State Cup round robin)?

I think you associate way to much of the anonymous venom to me. I am pretty open about my opinions. I certainly disagree with some things but would hardly categorize expressing a differing opinion as an attack.

I suppose being called arrogant and a shill doesn't qualify. I still don't see anything they presented that is all that much different than what I am actually saying. We both seem to agree that the travel is an issue. Where is the point of disagreement then? My sense is that it is simply that their kid is just wearing a different uniform than mine. Uniforms are not real important to me. What might not come across is that I could easily see my kid on an ECNL team down the road for the U16 year if that is what makes sense based upon my kid's abilities and goals as well as the landscape then. I just don't buy the notion that you essentially need to pre-pay for that spot by joining the team now. I honestly believe that if a kid is the real deal that multiple opportunities will be available to them later on when it is most advantageous for them and if it is not then they are not actually the real deal. As far as I am concerned though I do recognize that a certain amount of travel comes with the territory now from where I sit there is no reason to accelerate your expenditures by accelerating the amount travel. There are other options that will get your kid to the same place. Honestly that has nothing to do with uniforms, it is about the bottom line on what it takes to do all of this.

After you claimed, as nearly always, that people who substantively challenged what you're "actually saying" can't read, don't understand, refuse to accept due to bias or self-interest, etc.

How come the U14 parents aren't having this argument? They are closer to deciding ECNL or no ECNL. U13s have more than a year to think about it and see how things evolve.

Incorrect. Neither NEFC nor Stars will have to forfeit their games because they are in D1 or the Blue division.

The Scorpion U12 teams are forced to forfeit and pay a fine because neither team is in the Blue division. Only Blue division and Div 1 teams are allowed to miss Maple games for a tournament.

Since everyone loves to bash NEFC for what they deem unnecessary travel, can I now assume those same people will bash the Scorpions teams for traveling to NJ when they cannot even compete in the top division of Maple? Hmmmmmmmmmm

I'm not the poster you have taken issue with. But I don't understand your point. You are saying that ECNL teams travel more at the younger ages than non ECNL teams do, so you can save your money and join the ECNL team at the older ages when it "matters." But posters have pointed out, with examples, that non-ECNL teams at the younger ages are doing MORE travel than the ECNL teams do.

Sure, come down on the league, not the team in the 3rd division of Maple that is traveling to NJ to play in the lowest possible bracket at PDA.

That's part of it, but it's really BTDT driving the conversation. Whatever his motivation, he is beating the dead horse. The reality is that the families should not be thinking about that stuff right now, they should be concentrating on getting good coaching and being part of the right competitive environment.

What does that mean for Scorpions then? They don't have the best team in any age group other than U16. They don't have a team in the top 2 of any age group below U15. They better really start selling the league quickly!
