U13 Girls Spring Predictions Thread

I thought we were getting back to predictions not all this melodrama. It is safe to say that the top 4 to 5 players on all these clubs are potentially going to be great players (Aztec, MPS, NEFC, Scorpions and Stars). you do not want all the same type of players on one team. If you 15 alpha players you will get nowhere with that many personalities. you need about 10 very good role players that make great decisions with the ball and do not turn it over. You need the blue collar player that will run forever and give you 120% every game and training session. These role players that are unselfish will make a team great, not all the great talent.

1) Aztecs - As stated by another poster, team to beat.
2) Scorpions FM - Spring is where it counts
3) NEFC H - Addition will not make them better
4) Stars - Not enough to break the top 3
5) Pioneers - Home field advantage
6) Scoprions KD - Like the underdogs
7) Western United - Will struggle again
8) NEFC M - Kick and run stlye

My prediction is this...
1. Aztecs - Agreed
2. NEFC - better than given credit for
3. Scorpions - not consistent
4. Stars - not sonsistent
5. Scorpions KD - agreed
6. Pioneers - not enough home advantage this season
7. Western - agreed
8. NEFC M - unknown to me

After reading through this thread about all the teams I decided to ask my daughter who she thought the best team was besides her own of course. Without hesitation she said the Aztecs. If left me thinking how many kids feel the same way? Its a long drive for us but she is fascinated by the style of play and she said that the Aztec style fits her game.

OK. Put some meat on your ranking. Why?

By the way, I believe that you are absolutely correct about the need for role players. When you have 18 starters on a roster, 7 of them end up unhappy and that can blow a team apart. Role players are tough to find though.

First time weighing in on this, but I believe NEFC-H is the team to beat due to their GK and striker. If the new player gets 'into' soccer, they will be hard to beat.

I have Scorpions and Aztecs very close, a bit behind NEFC. Scorpions have some good speed and if they can link it up, they will be hard to beat. I think they will link it up sometimes and miss at other times. A bit to direct for my taste.

Aztecs play a very solid possession game in the mid-field and are solid in the back and in the net. If their strikers can produce, they will be #1. Something I am sure they are working on.

Stars do not impress me, so I now think Pioneers might be ahead of them as the #4 team.

Scorpions D and Western are very close together at #6 and #7. KD seems to connect very well with her players.

Just my opinion. You never know what will happen at this age.

I just want to make sure I read this right. NEFC H is the team to beat because of a striker and a GK? I like what you had to say about the Scorps and the Aztecs sounds like a team. Oakwood is also a team and we saw what happened. Aztecs and Scorps are the teams to beat.

Scorpions are a class organization. They would never be involved in anything against the rules, especially illegal recruiting.

If the player contacts them first, it is legal. I would assume this is what happened.

Actually I think you are correct. I may have it wrong but wasn't the whole basis of the Scorpions "poaching" claim from last year essentially that the NEFC bound coaches were contacting their players about moving with them before the end of the club year in June? Now I would be surprise if KD actually extended a direct (notice the word) invitation to tryout but clearly something has gone down. Don't you find it amusing that given FM's holier than though stance last year that one of his coaches is so free to clearly push the recruiting envelope? From where I stand it certainly speaks volumes about the integrity of that organization. Good luck with the tryout.

There are a number of existing recruiting complaints substantiated by email evidence in the MAPLE office right now. Because the clubs are small, the complaints don't get heard. When Scorpions complains and FM gets after it, things at the MAPLE office get done!

YUP! There is more illegal recruiting done by that club than just about any other in the state. That's why FM's complaint was such a joke. Oh well, old news...........

Yes that is what happened. I contacted a few clubs as we just moved here from GA. Can someone answer my question though?? I saw them play when I went to see our niece play, but we left before finals because it was raining.
