Nice name for a thread by the way!
Looks like Bolts PR machine in full swing - must be time for their annual contract signing!

      From the Bolts web site:

Many experts agree that the most important soccer development occurs between the ages of 5 and 9.
The experts say between 9 and 12 is the most important years. It's called the Golden Age of Learning. But it doesn't hurt to start earlier as long as it is fun for the kids.

How necessary is it to have 5 year olds in a program like this?

This is the most pathetic attempt at money making I have seen in some time. 5 years old - are you kidding me?? Some 5 year olds still need a nap and wet themselves on occasion, leave it to the Bolts to sell, sell, sell soccer, disgusting!

Is the training "European"? And will the kids automatically be placed on a waiting list at Dartmouth? What happens 10 year from now if they do not make the Academy squad and the family cannot experience ultimate "liberation" and there is no U16 Region 1 team for them to fall back on? Is the club making sure that the parents of the u5s see the BIG PICTURE? Any academic assistance offered for kindergarten? By the way, anyone have any inside knowledge to offer on the top kindergarten program in the country?

Actually this would be on par European/SA club soccer which starts with 5-8 y.o. Assuming this is fun and the kids are getting the proper instruction, 200 or so 90 minute sessions would give them a huge advantage by the time they are 9. A big problem with US youth soccer at early ages is that pre-9 town soccer is 'coached' by parents such that better coaching for 9-10 year olds is focused on teaching the basics and unlearning bad habits.

The really good kids learn from playing with their fathers, brothers and the kid next door.
