Or is this the rumored league that MPS, Stars, Scorpions and Aztecs are suppose to be putting together?

Re: New England Regional League
I this what you're talking about?
This from the NH forum --
At the last board meeting it was decided that GSYSL will offer a premier division this coming fall. Details still have to be worked out for this new division. It is hoped that the new division will be made up of teams from Maine, Rhode Island and of course New Hampshire. Once details and guidelines have been established by GSYSL they will be posted on the discussion page.

Re: New England Regional League
It looks like it will be happening. This from the GSYSL website --
All division 1 teams in GSYSL may apply to play in the new Premier Division, participation in this division will require out of state travel. Travel may include Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. For the fall season all games will be scheduled for Saturday, teams may be playing more than one game per day. For this division we are looking for teams that have some or all of the following.
A)Finished first or second in the current Division 1.
B)Participated in State Cup.
C)Participated in Premier Tournaments.
D)Played in other Premier Leagues.
E)You may be asked to provide supporting data.

Playing in state cup doesn't seem like too tough of an entry criterion.

Re: New England Regional League
Will 8v8 be offered at U12 since GSYSL offers the format for their U12 division?

It's so funny now watching a U11 or even U12 11v11 game now that my kids have aged up. When they were that age - of course you wanted them to play 11v11 - it was where the best kids were. But truly, truly how many kids on these teams can really cross the ball from the corner? How many keepers have a chance on a chipped in ball for the outside. Scaling to 8v8 on a reasonably sized field keeps the game more realistic for those smaller bodies.
Guess we don't need to start a small-sided vs. 11v11 debate in this thread, but let's hope you were kidding re: you comments. Plenty of higher level leagues (and tournaments offer 8v8 AND 11v11) and at some point it'll all be 8v8. Not the other way around.
