I caught the second half of the u12 Stars v. Scorps semi final and I have to tell you I was very impressed with the style of play for both sides. Granted it was a very wet grass field but both teams handled it very well. Stars seemed to carry the play more but the Scorps defense never broke and had some good counter attacks. I was mostly impressed by the comfort both teams displayed under pressure. It was a battle with the Stars prevailing with a goal in the last minute of play. They deserved the win, but wow did they have to earn it. I understand they went on to win the final easily. Congratulations to both teams on a job well done, at least this one parent was impressed.
U14 Renegades make a lot of teams experience an off day.
They remind me of the U15 Rovers. A determined, well coached, hard working group, clearly better than the sum of its parts, which doesn't get the respect they deserve.

Why can people not swollen their pride and admit this is a strong team. I am tired of people writing "excuses" everytime their team lose to the MPS 14 Renegades or barley win in a competitive game. The post above sums it up, they deserve a lot more respect than people give them, getting to the SC final and unbeaten in thier respective league means this group is getting stronger and will continue to do so under thier coach.
Everytime a team plays MPS they have an "off day", maybe its because these teams are not used to playing a quality team that makes other teams look bad???
I agree that the Stars team are better in some area's but not 5 out of 5 better. Get real and give this team some well deserved credit!
Oh - they are also attracting a lot of "top" players from other clubs.
