I agree that you still don't get it! Opportunity to play in MAPLE? MPS has always had the opportunity to play in MAPLE! They choose not to. Why not ask which MAPLE clubs are going to apply to play in Super Y? Believe it or not, some of us left MAPLE to join a club that doesn't. While many of you are packing up your lawn chairs and your kid is hanging up there (oops, better fix that before one of you "English teachers" corrects me) their boots for the summer, MPS has almost a full season to play!
this last post is true. mps does not qualify for maple d1 as a result of state cup like another maple club would. The rule was changed maybe two years ago. you have to have played in maple to qualify for d1 as a result of finishing in the state cup final.
But what some of these posters fail to understand is that MPS did declare some years back when they had a few teams in the mix that they would enter those teams in MAPLE had they qualified for the state cup final. It was just like the promo/relegation site is today, saying something to the effect of 'if mps qualifies for the state cup final, they will enter the league, so this other team would be involved in the playoff."
that was a few years ago, and then MAPLE changed the rule. there was discussion on this site or the old touchline that the rule was unfair to MPS, or whatever.

It seems a pretty blatantly biased rule against MPS. Just another example of the old guard protecting it's own and not the children they are suppose to represent.
So now the question. Will MPS play in Maple next year?
Why would MPS change anything? By the time their season is over the U16's will have played approximately 43 games compared to what, the 18-20 a team like the Crusaders or Pioneers probably played. Many knock the Super Y without really knowing the teams in it but honestly the leagues are more comparable than people would like to think. Add the Sub Regional experience and I think MPS ends up with a much more competitive schedule than they would have if they were to play just in MAPLE. Also realize that this path is getting the team a lot more exposure that just playing in MAPLE would accomplish. They are getting into the major showcases and the US Club Soccer National Cup series is well attended by college coaches. Think outside the box
The answer to this question is: YES! They will win in every age group...except the ones that Jason D coaches!
This makes me laugh, he has had more success than probably anyone in MA history. Has any other coach taken 2 separate teams to Nationals? Not to mention state cup titles, tournaments, region 1 premier league. If you are going to rate a coach on winning then no one comes close on the girls side. Maybe FO on the boys.

I had not considered that they play Sub Regional and then Super Y. Very good point about extending their game schedule and I agree it represents a more reasonable schedule.
