My kid plays for McDevitt - great guy, great coach. Nice to see him recognized up with the elite coaches. He is one.

Darren Gallagher deserves a nod. He currently coaches MPS CCLC GU14, previously coached the current U14 MPS Renegades, as well as the top Renegades PDL side. He's whipped the U14 CCLC into a talented side in a few short months.

What, there are no decent coaches for boys in Mass?!

Nice and well deserved post. Some coaches are realy "veterans" and very successful in this competition. There are 3 coaches in this list that always took their teams past round robin and won more than one championship: Jason, Marks and Rolando. Stars and Select 17's being the older groups each has 2 state championships, and they will meet in the semi this year again. Congrats and good luck to all!

Darren Gallagher never coached the curent GU14 Renegades. McDevitt coached the team at GU13 and Lee Billiard has coached them since fall 07. I am pleased to see Lee get a mention he has taken the GU14 Renegades team to a new and exciting level.

Only if you post a list.

Just amazes me when posts like this come up and they seem to come up rather frequently. Whinning that the coverage is about the girls side, but never make the effort to get something going on the boys. What's with that???

I don't have a boy playing, I am just interested in hearing about good coaches! Anyway, guess I need to find the right smilie to go along with my posts to show that it's meant to be humorous and to protect against snotty responses like that.

Sorry I missed them. Not less impressive! I am kind of old school, and I've being following the older groups for at least six years. Kudos to all of them!

The 17 team is ranked pretty high in Mass

Taskin Guven is a great coach also. He runs Central Mass FC (the old STS).

Time to start talking up McDevitt. Only Dewhurst and Marks have put more than one team into the semis. Both of those guys are well established and their teams are almost expected to be in the finals each year. Since most people don't really know what goes on inside MPS they may not be familiar with McDevitt . He is the real deal.

McDevitt should thank Jason for his club gave him the players to make it out of the Round Robin.
