    About to begin!!!!

Who cares? For teams in the Northeast (soccer is a fall sport in HS unlike most of the country where HS soccer is played in the spring) where many kids can not participate because of playoffs, the Super Y tournament is a JOKE!

It's just a bunch of self-promotion for second-tier programs! But everyone deserves a trophy, right?

It is a shame so many of our players are still active in the State Playoffs and NEPSAC playoffs and we cannot go to the Super Y Nationals. We'd be playing the following teams with the following national rankings:
        West Coast #54
        Triangle #78
        Chicago Fire #75
        Quickstrike #12
That's better than pretty much every tournament's top bracket at a showcase. But instead we're here playing high school soccer for our schools. Happy we're here playing, but it would have been nice to play and try to win a championship in Florida as well.

It's not a shame that they're still playing. It's an unfortunate scheduling glitch.

It's not an unfortunate scheduling glitch, the games were always slated for this weekend over the past few years. Players have to decide between HS and club. Here's how the teams have fared in Florida so far:

              U13 B

              Alliance Academy 4 - MPS 0
              NJ Rangers 4 - MPS 1

              U14 B

              Alliance Academy 3 - MPS 1
              North Virginia Royals 2 - MPS 1

              U15 B

              MPS 3 - Ft. Wayne Fever 0
              MPS 2 - Rage SC 0

              U16 B

              MPS 2 - Toronto Lynx 1
              Ironbound 1 - MPS 0

              U17 B

              Super Nova 2 -MPS 1
a game still to be played

I'm surprised they still play this tournament.

Is this the "West Coast" team that is ranked #9 in the country or a different one?

I do not know about the Super Y League and trying to. I have noticed several DAP clubs that have teams in SYL so how does it work with these teams to play in both leagues? If the SYL is a socond league to these clubs then it would be great for teams in DAP to have regulation, the two bottom teams sent to the SYL and the two top teams in SYL move up to DAP, don't you think that system would be good?

Wow, the MPS teams have certainly slipped. The U15 boys, who made it to the finals last year, ended up with a consolation game - did this SC loss this year demoralize them? And the U14s had a poor showing too. What's going on?

It's a new year, it's a new team. The MPS U15's lost many of their top players to the Academy teams. The cream keeps rising to the top. Because their team was stuck in Maple for this year with no chance of moving into the R1 premiere league, theses top players moved up to the next level with other programs. Would those players have joined academy programs if their had won state cup? Have no idea. I do know the state cup winners added a couple of players and lost no one after their state cup win.

What? This team doesn't play in MAPLE - I'm pretty sure they played R1/NEP/Super Y last year & this year they're doing NEP/Super Y. How many players left - you say many????? Checking the new roster, I know both goalkeepers left, which is definitely a problem for the team. And a couple more flew the coop. I think the State Cup loss was definitely a factor. They absolutely expected to beat NEFC. The kids the team picked up are solid but not outstanding. Interesting.

Many of these organizations have more than one team per age group. The top team plays in DAP and the other teams play in other leagues.
Large organizations like Triangle and CASL have a 3-tier system.

If you look at the DAP teams and other Super-Y clubs in New England, they also have more than one team. They have their lower-level teams playing in NEP.
