It has been confirmed that the Bayside FC Bolts U13 Boys team is the first team ever from Rhode Island to win Division 1 Maple.

You watch and see what happens with the pre-Academy and DAP process and then get back to us and tell us about how loyalty/commitment works out.

They came in first in the Fall. No trophies are awarded in the Spring.

Oh, for goodness sake. There are plenty of DAP kids who drop out of the program because of academic commitments (for example, kids attending boarding schools cannot manage the overwhelming time commitment of DAP). If those players want to keep playing, they'll be happy to stay with MAPLE etc.

And guess what - there are plenty of "top" players who never even opt to try out for DAP. Stop it with the insular thinking....

          Congrats, Bayside.

Honestly tropies mean nothing and by the way - you have it backwards - trophies are awarded in the Spring!

Why is it so important to make a good thing and a positive thing into a negative thing...am I sensing some jealousy. I mean c'mon really. This was meant as a positive post to give this team a bit of recognition to which they outright deserve.

Is it the team or a parent (or group of parents) who need the recognition?

Good for JC and the boys they should be proud. As a former teammate of JC I can tell you that there isn't a better person you want working with your kids. He is a great guy and one hell of a player/coach. As someone who played in the LASA league I'm not surprised by the talent put together. Rhode Island's Portugese and Cape Verdean communities are soccer crazy and alot of the players who played LASA have kids who are now making an impact. JC is well respected in that area and this is just the beginning.

I'm just glad someone beat the Blazers and their pompous, obnoxious, arrogant and self-important parents. Not to mention their equally crazed coach, FO. Rumor has it he's still steaming over not having won every game this fall.

You know nothing about us and where we started or came from and this TEAM deserves the recognition!

The TEAM knows what they accomplished. "Recognition" is for wannabe's or neverdid's.

Gotta be a parent trying to stroke their ego or a club flunky trying to get business.
