The title of the earlier thread was "NEFC Disapproval Rating" and since it went dormant this thread was started in an attempt to pile on in light of the Needham incident.

The original post and this thread has nothing to do with ethics and values, it is merely a lame and ineffective attempt to discredit NEFC in the misguided hope that it will somehow improve the competitive landscape for the Scorpions because they are starting to lose ground to NEFC teams in some of the younger age groups.

The Maple violations cited by the OP relate to actions taken by long time Scorpions coaches who were hired by FM before NEFC hired them (one of whom was completely exonerated by Maple) and their actions were no different than similar actions taken by many other clubs in numerous instances (and using a parent or another player as the go between to recruit another team's players mid- season is more unseemly than anything done by BB in my book). Maple's player contact rules are also not followed by any other league or soccer governing body. All of which is very old news and has been beaten to death on this Forum previously.

I am only aware of one State Cup roster violation involving an NEFC coach and my understanding is that it was a very minor incident due to inadequate due diligence by a Puma coach regarding a player's participation in an early round state cup qualifier for another team (as opposed to an intentional violation) and it had no impact with respect to any results on the field.

The Needham incident has nothing to do with NEFC, nor do we know all the facts with respect to that incident. What we do know is the school superintendent was quoted in the paper saying that the coach has served the school well for the past 10 years. It is a matter of public record that FM's former supervisor in the Braintree police department had much less favorable things to say about him.

Lastly, I would be happy to compare the morals, ethics and integrity of the NEFC Club President (BM), Girls Director (CH) and Boys Director (EK) against the leadership of any other club in New England.
I'm new to this so forgive me....as I understand this comment NEFC used a player for a State Cup game that already had played for a different team? Is this allowed? I didn't think it was. If its not allowed, I take it that it was PUMAs fault for not having picked up on this (not sure how they would have known) - but not NEFCs fault for doing it. Is my view correct?

Every organization has bad apples. That is just reality.

I also believe that the soccer instruction these kids are getting from NEFC staff is of good quality, having seen a couple of these teams play this fall.

What I can't seem to square amidst all the accusations and counter accusations that appear on this forum is what I'll simply call the "integrity factor." I don't know BB and PM except for what I've read and heard, and while the nature of their transgressions has been covered elsewhere ad nauseum, it seems to me those incidents are also behind them and they are back in good standing with MAPLE. I have met CH a couple of times (my kids went to the BC summer sessions a few years ago) and I always found him to be very personable.

So my question is pretty straight forward; why is it that the simple mention of NEFC seems to stir up so much feeling in MA soccer circles? Is it the relative success of their teams that is seen as threatening to the other big clubs? Is there something endemic to NEFC as a club that goes to the "integrity factor" and that I'm somehow missing? Do NEFC parents just seem to rub others the wrong way? Is it some combination of the above?

Hope a balanced discussion might ensue?
Your post is a good one and the answer to your question is fairly simple.

These forums are anonymous. Any idiot can come on here and say whatever they want about whomever they want. The same idiot can respond to his or her own posts and agree with him/herself.

FM spent months on here making sure to badmouth 2 of his former coaches and let everyone know they lacked integrity. When you consider the source it's pretty laughable. For those who know the man you know he has absolutely zero integrity himself. I don't know the other coaches and for all I know they could be total A*$holes, but gimme a break. The guy lost his job as a town soccer coach, a high school soccer coach, and a police officer within a span of two years. I don't know if he should be casting too many stones. Lest we forget about the grand jury indictment while we are at it.

It's common knowledge in my home town that if the man didn't carry a badge for so long he'd be behind bars

How many times have you been fired under questionable circumstances, PM?

PM? Seriously, what has he accomplished? His resume is pretty sparse. PM, we know you are watching, care to contribute?

Serious, one of the best coaches around, belongs in that category. Good guy too. Sorry Fred! Better coach and better guy!

PM, please enlighten us with your soccer resume, accomplishments, success stories, anything. All I see is a real thin soccer resume and a fair salesman.

And no ones initials are "Fred". Please try to abide by the rules. We know hard that is for some of you and your NEFC brethren.

And you wonder why so many are looking forward to the game this spring?

Do you think it really matters whether a poster uses "Fred" or "FM"?

I know you must be the "rules are the rules" person over in the Needham hazing thread.
