Please correct errors, omissions in info., etc and add on.

A ton of D3s are unreported. Is the U18 info for Stars accurate on website? They have a Brandeis and UMass listed as well as a 2010 for Goucher. MPS also must have at least a handful, as well as other top MAPLE teams.

Agree, also add to the D3 list U Chicago, Carnegie Mellon, and 2 at Tufts[/QUOTE]

Hard to add without names.... U Chicago may be the toughest academic gig in the USA, and CMU and Tufts obviously are no jokes....Congrats to whoever these kids are.

I heard that Cary Dylan signed with UNC and is getting a full ride just for being the team water boy/mascot/cheerleader.

          What a deal!!!!!!!!

Well, from the parent of a child who told me that they will "have to try out if they want to be ob the team".

Perhaps he is all of those things. But he's also not been recruited by them and will be attempting to earn a roster spot at tryouts. And yes, we wish him luck.

I hope you are a parent of the kid because otherwise you have no right posting this. Also interesting that the statement about unrecruited players being listed came BEFORE this particular kid was posted.

BTW, if you ask me, if a kid wasn't recruited to a school like Williams then it's even more impressive that the a kid is going there. That means they got in totally on their own merits without any assistance.

^ Yeah, this. How unbelievably obnoxious...

PS - I'm pretty sure he's talking about more than one player on the list

How about a little re-framing here....

Instead of putting a mental asterisk by kids who people think may not have been recruited and/or may not play when they get to college, let's put an asterisk by all the kids who we think never would have gotten into the college without soccer. The kids who get in without soccer are the ones who really belong, and unfortunately folks like to create the opposite impression.

Well, it's certainly the same right as posting the name of a kid going to a school like Providence when that doesn't appear on any public list. Not on ESPN, not on Top Drawer, not even on his DAP profile.

But your 2nd paragraph is absolutely hitting the nail squarely on the head.

The ESPN Rise list is sport specific. Not all kids have committed to play soccer at these schools. We just assume that because they are listed. Some need to earn roster spots at tryouts.

                          You can't afford a vowel.

One comment re: which Bolts team, the next claiming he hasn't been recruited - and you wonder why no one is willing to post their child's name here. Your negativity is disgusting. If you have nothing to "add" please resist the urge to post your hate. Congrats to TM he had a great season at Andover and will do very well at Williams!

                              Whoa, Dad......

It wasn't negative. It was a matter of accuracy. No one is saying he won't do well. No one is saying he doesn't deserve to gain admission to a great school based on academics. What has been said is that he was not recruited to play soccer there and that if he is going to be on the team, he has to win a roster spot at a tryout.

I'm reminded of the line from "A Few Good Men": YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH"!

unfortunately a great hs season doesn't always translate to success in college soccer. i'm sure he'll do great academically and hopefully he makes the cut during preseason.
