This thread as a whole is pretty much a fail any way you decide to look at it.

Not playing D1= the end of the world
Choosing a great D3 school for their education=the kid couldn't play D1 so therefore sucked
DAP parents= DAP is god everything else if inferior
Non-DAP parents= DAP is awful and a pointless waste of money

There is no duality to a single poster throughout this entire thread. Yes, I have read every single post. There is hardly even any talk about kids getting recruited anywhere, and if it is almost 90% of it ends up being negative. People do not realize that soccer is only part of the decision making process. Granted, it can be a huge part, but there is also the academics and social aspect to consider. It is a three part process and if one of the parts does not work then ideally none of them should work. Majority of these kids have 4 more years to play then will go work in some other field.

Agree with your post..except I can't think of a single reason the "soccer" decision should be before the "academic" decision-EVER. At best they will "play" 2-4 more years, they will "work" for the next 50.

That is true, but it also gives "bragging" right for those parents the next 50 years.

On the otherhand, you're only young once and you have the rest of your life to work. I encourage my kids to chase their dreams, to work at them, and make them happen. If they don't, and you gave it your all, that's okay. At least you tried and won't have regrets.

Spot on, I admire your wisdom.

OK, 65 pages into this thread.

              A lot of bickering.

              A lot of philosophizing.

              Not a lot of commitments.

The only real activity (if it is indeed real) we've had for the past month is sweating out whether ACMILAN20 is going to commit to Bridgton or Dean College.

If we all profusely apologize for our behavior and promise to be good boys and girls, can we at least get a few announcements? Agree to at least a 2 week hiatus on the DAP vs non-DAP thing? Maybe begin with the D3s and work our way up? Should we create a new thread just to get a fresh start?

Hopefully we'll know more come Wednesday.

I think that covers MA players who have been named on this thread. A few others have been referenced but not named. Also don't think we got confirmation on D Brown (also a 2010 grad).

D Brown is playing for this iasa college program in England, seems like you train as a team there, take accreditied college courses and scrimmage local teams and pro youth academies. http://internationalasa.com/

List looks accurate to this point.

Missing a number of D2/D3 commitments...

I heard a rumor last weekend about a Revs player going to BC, and apparently 'several' Revs players are still weighing their options

yes, according to the Revs. What would you expect them to say, none of our players are going to play at the next level? What options are there? If they were highly sought after, they would have been told to apply early, and given a 'ball park' FA amount. Especially with the beginning of signing tomorrow.
If they were not highly sought, then they went RD, and won't know about admission (around march) or FA (around April) until later this spring.

yea right, what options are they "weighing?" and only 3 mass bolts daps going d1? this has got to be one of the worst years for mass kids playing at the next level from a d1 standpoint. and don't say "they had many d1 options but chose to go d3 for academics beacause there are tons of d1 schools that have excellent academics.
