Not saying that at all. Just that it is atypical. Another poster termed this a depth player. This is probably true. A depth player for UNC with a tremendous upside. Given the kids trajectory over the next year or two, he may likely work his way on the field. It happens. I know of it happening. But I think those who have been through this, and I mean seriously through this, would agree that the players who are perceived as impact players are for the most part at least committed verbally by June-July before senior year.

On the boys side this is true for D1. That said there is still the domino effect. Coach is waiting to hear back from Player B and gets bad news that Player B is going to accept partial scholarship from a different school. Coach now goes down his list looking for Player C. It's happening now still in D1 and very much so in D2 and D3. The boys side is alot later lag time than the girls side--almost a full year later.

The showcase down in phoenix is going to play a big part in which schools they go to.
        Wait a minute..........................

How does this happen at the Bolts? I thought all these high powered college coaches at the Bolts were supposed to facilitate all the Bolts DAP kids into high level programs. Looks like the Bolts coaches are more interested in picking off a few players from the Bolts DAP for their own programs, given a look at the rosters of Northeastern, Providence, and Franklin Pierce.

Notto mention that only three kids you mention were DAP kids last year. So you want us all to believe that the kids who played on the Bolts DAP at U16, weren't good enough to make it into the DAP team last year, are now talking to D1 programs?

Since only 3 of these players are listed on the roster, will be tough for the others to get to AZ

Still see more from other NE clubs (Beachside, Synergy, Oakwood) than the 2 DAP clubs from Mass.

I saw 4 Bolts on the ESPN list-
                  Miller-Lafayette
                  Maquebela- Boston College
                  Bialy-Providence
                  Ugarte-Providence

And how many of those do you think will ever see significant minutes? I say one... the first one.

A similar ratio will be true when we start seeing the impressive list of D3 commits pouring in.

The two recruits for Providence played for the PC coach when he was at Bruno and followed him to the Bolts when he became an Academy coach.

The BC recruit hasn't playd a single second for a Bolts Academy team. In fact, he hasn't played a minute for a Bolts team since U15 as he did not make the U16 Academy team. That means he "verbally committed" to BC prior to playing at the Bolts. This is reminiscent of a player that went to the Bolts last year who had already committed to BC (from the disbanded NEFC team). The Bolts put him on their non-Academy team before realizing that if he had verbally committed to BC he must be good enough for an academy team.

You have to question the Bolts coaches ability to recognize talent. You have to question their true motivation to coach in the Academy as it just seems as if they are there to get a better look at players for their own programs. And you have to wonder about their development with the significant turnover from year to year.

And they both had outstanding seasons this past fall.

I've seen them play since they were quite young. One is average. One is technically brilliant but is small and oft-injured. The latter is a good D1 prospect. The former will struggle for playing time.

this is a mass forum on 2011 mass kids that are commited to D1-D3 schools so maybe just start another thread titled "2011 bolts players college commits." these two pc recruits are the last guys in a big pc recruiting class so they will only be practice players anyway.

7 players is not a big incoming class

it actually is, only 6 schools on the espn list have more than 7 recruits and like 5 other schools have seven also. the avg class is about 5 so pc has a big class although not huge like radford. you should read things before you make a dumb, incorrect comment
