15 goals in 14 games, while good, is not heads and shoulders better than the rest of the All States or East Ma All Stars
“He’s in a tough position because a lot of guys in his status have been in the club ranks for three or four years and he only joined the [New England Revolution youth team] last year," Hosford said. "So he got on the radar screen fairly late. He’s perhaps feeling the repercussions of that a little bit, where a lot of his teammates have signed early, and he’s still waiting.”
Wasn't he in ODP for many years, joined the revs in year 2 of their program and only 1 teammate has committed (UNH) In fact, FCGB (4), Oakwood (3) Beachside (4) all have more than the Revs committed.

Sounds a little iffy. NC hasn't seen him play Nov of his senior year, and will compare him to two internationals. They already have six players lined up with verbal commits. The ACC locks up its big players as juniors mostly. More likely is a trip to George Mason, still a good job for Cole. He's a great soccer talent. GL to him.

I'd have a bit more respect if he told the truth.
If I follow the Globe article's chronology, I think the year we're talking about is the same year CD played on the Region I team that went to Argentina. If he accepted the Bolts offer of the developmental position, he would have to forgo the Region I position and trip to Argentina.
I could be wrong, but I bet CD is sophisticated enough to have thought it through and figure being a member of the Region I team looks as good on his resume as being a Bolts development player and nothing in Bolts' offer comes close to the once in a lifetime, all expenses paid, trip to Argentina the Regional Team was offering.

I used to think no one could top NEFC or Scorpions, but the Bolts apologists really take the prize by a landslide. The arrogance and smug indignance are beyond belief.
If this kid didn't make Bolts it has to be because he wasn't good enough. Hey, the Revs didn't take him either, right? But what no one is focusing on is that the Bolts and DAP also therefore cannot claim any role in the kid getting better, assuming that is what happened. Indeed, can anyone name ANY player who has skyrocketed in ability as a result of the "development" of Bolts/DAP? Seems it is always a player getting better on his own and/or with help of a "regular" club and then joining a DAP team after he already is really, really good.
