on the topic of d3 vs d1...I would take Williams College vs any college team in New England( all divisions) to win. Only exception would be UCONN away. Russo has talent enough to compete and beat Brown,Harvard UMASS etc.

Dude you have no clue about or have watched much college soccer. Williams and other nescac schools do not move up to D1. Also never seen Davidson play but Williams and Bowdoin maybe Amherst could handle most Patriot and Ivies ..Colgate is not a very good soccer team. Williams has speed and skill and size...well coached and athletic..

My son did both and is a college soccer player now. It seems pretty obvious DAP is better for the higher level players. It's not for everyone of course.

I will start a new Nescac thread...hate to waste my time with idiot parents that have no clue....I would say the top 20 In the countryt D1 have an advantage over the top D3 schools..i.e scholarships and talent etc...but top D3 teams in country like top 10 could hang with any D1 team outside of top 20...Also coaching at Williams and other Nescacs' is very good so ur point makes no sense, Most D1 schools besides UCONN and Akron and UNC dont even try to play real futbol...playing kick and run ball is in air more than on ground...ugly soccer and not teahing kids anything...Try cathcing Messiah and Williams play soccer ....fun and entertaining ball on ground 70% of time...one/two touch futbol...have fun sucker parents

I am 37 years old and played at Dartmouth..Friggin meatball...come out of ur closet and state where u played ..if u even did...I can state from experience that what I have previously said is very true about top D3 schools...remember alot of athletes can play 2 sports D3 and not D1....can be one of many factors on picking D1...this isnt big time college b-ball or football....NOt much of difference b/w d3 and d1 soccer...again top d3 teams...i can think of numerous 2 sport athletes ....A good one...extremely gifted athelete is Casey FTorek(son of pro hockey coach Robbie Ftoret) he played soccer and hockey at Middlebury...helped them win D3 NCAA championship in Soccer scoring a ton of goals after transfering from Union(d1 college hockey)Last edited by LaPaz; 01-26-2011, 08:27 PM.

Elite D3 programs could probably compete with the bottom-feeders of D1, but the vast majority of D1 teams would massacre even the best D3 teams. And I played D3 soccer, for the record.
