The post about a language issue with the boys is just plain wrong. The kids are a great group; there is no issue at all with their language on field or off. As a previous poster stated there was one issue by the coach that was addressed immediately with the boys. Over and done with.

[QUOTE=Unregistered;429229]why do we accept this behavior from any coach? [QUOTE]

Because incivility and rudeness has become a regular part of our culture. Good manners are considered old fashion and outdated. Those few that have them are becoming a dying breed.

Youth Soccer is the ultimate family activity and must remain a place where our members can bring their young families knowing they will find a wholesome atmosphere.

So in your book it is ok to use whatever language that a Coach wants to use as long as he speaks English Correctly.

Who said anything about THEIR language? Did you read the post? Even with the required translation, it was still pretty clear that this was about a group of 11 year old boys listening to off color dressing downs by a coach, and this was causing them, and their opponents, and their parents, a lot of discomfort. This is a legitimate problem, and it's not isolated. I hope it can be addressed for everyone's sake, including the coach, who is a descent human being who I believe doesn't mean any harm. This is just an anger management issue. Some men simply need to grow up.

I have seen this team play multiple times and the coaches seemed pretty calm and composed to me. I don't know what goes on in team huddles, but nothing seems noteworthy from the spectators' sideline.

                        therapy

I don't do that very often though. It's so rare that I swear in real life that sometimes I'll toss in something really vulgar unexpectedly when I'm talking with my '''''''''' just to get a reaction out of them. For some reason I think that's funny. Maybe I should take it to AskMe and be told I need therapy.

                              nasty

if that is the case, then you should probably get off the team because from the sound of it, you will not improve because they are being such a bully and it's robbing you of your joy.

                                coach

                                This is really tough.

This is the reason new soccer clubs get formed and why teams often split up. I suggest this:

                                1. Have a Parent's meeting to discuss it without the coach present.

                                2. Go to the Coach and ask him to step aside.

                                3. If he won't step aside, appoint a representative to meet with the President of the Club.

Options include forming a new club or just quitting. I would guess you might be better off quitting than staying on this team. It doesn't sound like much fun and I wonder how much your kid is learning.
