This happened many times this year.Strong midfielder steals ball about half field,carries ball to about the 20 down the side,crossed it in,one player barely touches it and then somebody else knocks it in.Who should get the assist?The player that barley touched it before it was kicked in by another or the midfielder that carried it all the way down the field?

sorry but it should go to the one who gave it a flick,nudge,poke etc. The cross was responsible for getting the ball in the box but what happens in the box is usually the reason the ball found the back of the net.
