I was expecting better competition from BC but it only shows how overrated the talent on the east coast is.

I usually expect West Coast teams to lose in the NCAA championships. That's because of 28 women's championships won so far, West Coast teams have won only 4. (I do expect Stanford to win tomorrow, but I won't be surprised if they don't.)

Of 42 players in the women's national team pool, only 10 hail from west of St. Louis. Where is all the West Coast talent?

I do not agree w that obviously but congratulations to the Irish...they were obviously better that day...Stanford was derserving and clearly the best team throughout the year...that cannot be denied...also a tough climate for them.

Sure it can. Here's what Notre Dame coach Randy Waldrum had to say after the game:

"Please have the courage to write that this was the best team in the country, not that this was an upset. I know everybody had preordained Stanford as the national champion this year. But I would make the argument that once the NCAA tournament started, the path we took and the way we won games ... we clearly were the best team in the country." Notre Dame

Super impressed with Notre Dame's style of play. Every player on the team was technically very, very good and they were great together as a team, and well-coached and tactically smart. Really enjoyed watching them play and they really deserved the win. Better team than Stanford period.
