"Randomly", my a... maple is out to quash the smaller clubs. I look forward to when the stars are playing only the stars and nefc is playing only nefc...won't that be fun. At least we can see who can coach versus just being stuffed with natural talent.
Are you kidding? The more clubs the more money Maple makes. Why do you think they will let any club join the so-called "premier" league in the first place?
If anything, Maple wants more clubs in their league, not less. The only problem is that the product is so lousy, that they can't keep it up.

Take a look at this club and their -200 goal differential over the last few years, yet they are allowed to play in MAPLE season after season, and charge parents big fees....

Where are these "lousy" teams supposed to play? It is impossible to attract any local talent when the bigger clubs are actively poaching the better players. Are you going to send your kid to Liverpool, Hamlets etc even if they have better coaches when nefc b or stars d come sniffing around. The whole system is being rigged by the big clubs as it becomes a vicious circle of eating the small; maple could care less if there is nobody but nefc and stars putting 6 teams each in every division. The only kids playing for the smaller clubs are the ones didn't make it or are unhappy with their playing time. Have fun watching the 2 "premier teams play each other every week.

Its actually easier for MAPLE if they only have to deal with a few clubs so consolidation and world domination by just a few clubs is actually very good for MAPLE.

I wish someone would explain to me what the big deal is about "poaching" players. All teams want to get better. All coaches should do their best to make their team better. If Club X is interested in recruiting a player to their team and that player (and his/her family) is willing to switch, then what's the big deal? Conversely, if a player choses NOT to leave the club they are with, then so be it. Again, no big deal.
I agree if the family is not happy they should leave and find a situation they are more comfortable with. There are rules for clubs approaching players midseason trying to lure them away and I do believe these should be enforced. But unless someone files a complaint and the club has left a paper trail there is no real punishment or penalty. Just cover your tracks and buyer beware. My comments are to all age levels not just the age group represented on this thread

Every coach does try to make his team better, but it is difficult to attract top quality when the bigger clubs are now offering 2 or 3 teams within an age group-you can be subjected to having 36 or 72 elite players all heading to the club with the more impressive resume, regardless of the coaches' abilities. This can lead to a paucity of talent available to the lesser clubs. I'm not saying it is right or wrong; maybe there should be a limit to the number of teams a club can have within an age group at these early ages. And it can be a big deal if you are the coach who has invested time and energy into developing a young player(s)who does leave. We don't sell players to fund the club's balance sheet; if that was the case, we'd all be in the academy business. As lonf as your child is the one being "poached", all is right with the world...

There you go though, Hamlets and Liverpool have never had "better" coaches. That's where you get it wrong.

Many of the smaller clubs actually have coaches that work with much less talent, yet are still able to compete. That above statement is indicative of the lack of thought that goes into where a child plays; any decent coach could have sucess with the rosters of the stars or nefc. It's what a coach accomplishes without the talent that makes a difference.

Judging from the number of complaints that originate with the coaches of the so called "elite" clubs, you'd never know they were "better" coaches. Liverpool and Hamlets both lose good players every year to the bigger clubs; they must be doing something right at the younger ages. If loyalty counted, they'd be able to compete at every age group.
Scorpion u11 elite go undefeated to win top bracket at CFC tournament. great job
Where were the top U11G teams this weekend? Where were the NEFC top teams? No, I am not insighting anything and I am not an NEFC parent. Just curious about the other quality tournaments and who they attract.
