I think this is why so many teams are leaving MAPLE.

How is it right that the top seed in A could potentially play the top seed in B???? It should be A1 V D2. The intent should be to keep the top seeds away from each other. Isn't that why we have seeding?

You are a fool... This has nothing to do with teams leaving... If you were this stupid at your day job would you still b working? Are you a weather man?

The clubs teams that are leaving MAPLE is so they can re-schedule/or cancel games the coaches who play R1, ECNL can not get to.
Since they will run the league NO ONE since there is no relegation/promotion which allows the cream to rise to the top. They can forfeit without fear of losing the spot.
So when you go to play on Sunday, and your coach is in NY that weekend for Region 1 game, they will just cancel it or reschedule it. NEP does not require you to reschedule since there is no relegation/promotion rather a re-alignment if your team sucks. if the team is good, they will have the KEYS to the city at everyone else's expense.

Parents that follow are in for a rude awakening. ONLY the CLUBS benefit.

It is a standard format for tournaments following league play for QTR FINALS which two teams advance (potentially) one from each A and B who then play AvD, and BvC

Would have been worse if NEFC B had been in too. It would have been Stars D, SSS and NH Classics in A. Then NEFC B, NEFC N and Western in B. Thats the top 6 teams in 2 brackets that would play each other in a quarter final.

This is why KI should not have allowed NEFC B and SSS to play in U12. Not to mention the fall in 2 groups had Stars D, NEFC N and Western United in the same color....then NEFC B, Scorpions and Fuller in the same color which made the Blue division in the spring weaker. Imo those 6 with SSS and NH classics make up the real top 8.

The seeding and subsequent Quarterfinals are all set up mathematically correct.

If all highest seeds win their games. The Quarterfinals will be Seed 1 vs Seed 8 / Seed 2 vs Seed 7 / Seed 3 vs Seed 6 / Seed 4 vs Seed 5.

If Seed 2 becomes the 2nd Seed in its bracket and is to play Seed 1, it is because Seed 2 performed worse than expected in its backet.

The oddity lays in the way teams are seeded. Especially with teams which did not compete at this age group being dropped into the seeding.

Look at the seeds of the tournament. What your suggesting is A1(the top seed in the tournament) who would play D2 (who is the 6th seed in the tournament), where B2 (is the 8th seed in the tournament.) So it makes sense that A1 would play B2. (1v8). Look at the seeds again the way it is done makes the most sense for the top teams.

The goal of the quarterfinals is to have the top 4 teams. That is why you play the top teams against the second teams of the 4 brackets. The a and b bracket play against the 7th and 8th ranked team vs playing against the 5th or 6th ranked team. It is an easier path to the semifinals unless select is in one of the brackets.

Example:
Stars D plays the second best team from NEFC B Bracket
NEFC B plays the second best team from Stars D Bracket
Scorpions plays the second best teams from Stars C Bracket
Stars C plays the second best team from Scorpions bracket

The logic is that the 4 top teams make the semi-finals. I will agree who ever gets select in their bracket will have 2 top teams.

In the fall they put names in a HAT and do the magically lottery style selection.

to Quarter Finals
A-1 playing B-2
B1 playing A2 and C1 playing D2 and D1 playing C2

A-1 STARS JD vs. B-2 NEFC NB and B1 SSS playing up vs. A-2 Crusaders G
with Western a very good team.. looking in from outside from Group B

A group is soft.. for sure... B has 3 strong teams and a cream puff from bottom of green
but if no SSS, then it would be more evenly balanced..

Your right...the Andre Cup has nothing to do with why the clubs are leaving...that would be silly but if you think R1 or ECNL is the only reason than you are the fool. Its people like you... they are trying to distance themselves from. Most off the top teams/clubs are leaving and MAPLE will suffer in the regular season. This doesn't mean you can't get matches with these teams. If your coach has any clue he will schedule games with these clubs no matter what league they play in. DEVELOPMENT! Remember? Of course not!

No one is stopping you but this league is not ECNL, or even Sub R1, R1 it is a place to have friendly and hand out chocolate bars afterwards. Do not forget to bring the sliced oranges for half time.

You must be an SSS parent!! Your staying behind and upset that you don't have the Club or organization that has the credentials to make it. Let's see, all the best teams are going to NEP and they must all be stupid. Maple will be MASC. If you want to play the B and C teams and town teams and beat them up and boast about it on the website so be it.

Read US soccer's youth strategy and mission and tell me if Maple fits what they are looking for. Promotion and relegation is not something US Soccer promotes for youth soccer and putting U11 teams in the purple division. Actually KI made a great decision on the position of SSS team in U12 Purple. They went 3-3-1 in U12 purple and 5th place. Not NEP quality in my opinion.

Congrats to NEFC Kickers on winning the Premier final 5-1. Good games all weekend, but once they took care of the mighty SSS Elite U11 team 2-0, and PASA 2-1 in the semi final, there wasn't much else left to do. A good weekend of soccer. Andre Cup is coming up soon. Fun times!!
