Got news for you guys - our club (not Bolts) is on a three year uni cycle and we parents love it since it saves us money. No idea what Bolts charges but this may not be bad news.

It is a very poor reflection of the club in this day and age and I agree it is symbolic of the decay that has long set in at Bolts. Someone needs to get a grip and care about these girls.
Any one judging a club by their web site has their priorities WAY out of whack. Oh, I forgot..........most of you on this board have your priorities way out of whack.

If you don't like MPS, Bolts, Scorpions, or whatever club, then don't have your kid play for them. If you don't like Chinese food, then you don't go to a Chinese restaurant. And you don't go to an Asian Food Discussion Board and trash Chinese people (well, some of you shameless bastards would, judging from the venom on this board toward kids and their families)

Sorry, I have to agree with the previous poster. Stars Rovers should be getting royalties for having their picture on the web site for so long.

I dont get it, why do Stars Rovers have their picture on the Bolts site?

The website, esp for the girls teams is a travesty. In reality it is no more than a way to efficiently collect money from the parents.

A few of their supposedly "weaker" teams are stingy on defense, and probably only a few offensive players away from all but national level squads such as Stars U15.

It seems as though they are not starting from scratch. Can't their offense ills be corrected through tryouts, coaching and recruiting?

Isn't this the reason Tony Mohammed was hired?
                How prescient!

A well-run business pays attention to the details. A clean, attractive storefront is a must; even the way a business answers its phones is a reflection of its management. By that standard, the Bolts Web site reflects poorly on the club. It suggests to me that the club is not well run, that something is lacking in its management--energy, involvement, passion. It also suggests that the club lacks pride in its girls teams.

The Bolts is one of the most expensive clubs, yet it can’t be bothered to feature its players on its Web site. A well-run business treats its customers better than that.

Spoken like a true parent. This goes along with the other parental evaluation criterion of nice uniforms and coach's with accents.

Is this true of every team page? Or just a few? We're judging a club by a few team pages that are not updated?

$2000 for 7 games would be crazy. Which is why no one pays $2000 for 7 games. They pay for training in the fall (when appropriate for older teams, although if they did it weekly they'd get bashed for promoting overuse in high school players), training in the winter months, striker/goalkeeper/technical sessions whenever players can attend, the spring season and practices, state cup, and from our experience great coaching, access to synthetic turf fields with lights, and more that is intangible but probably happens at a lot of clubs - great friendships, etc.

I never consider website content when the bill comes. Sorry to disappoint.

Actually, to use your analogy, this is a site populated by Chinese people who practically live in Chinese restaurants becasue they LOVE Chinese food -- provided it's from their region. (Cantonese, Mandarin, Szechwan, etc.) Most of them come here to bash each others cuisine and boast about their own. There is an occasional nugget of really useful info. buried in these posts, but you have to dig through a lot of garbage to find it.

For most of the girls teams, State Cup will be one and done.

How many times per week are the girls teams training?

Yeah well, the parents are the paying customers of youth soccer and if a club wants to stay in business, i.e. keep paying their coaches and administrators, they'd better listen.

Look at it this way. You are hiring an employee. Two candidates come in looking for a job who are equally qualified. Do you hire the one who walks in with a business suit or do you hire the one who comes in wearing jeans, sneakers and a nose ring? Remember, they are equally qualified. Oh, yeah, and the guy with the nose ring wants to be paid more than the guy in the suit. Who do you hire?

Easy question to answer, but truth be told, most parents don't interview, so it really doesn't matter for the majority, but for a few it does and for those few, they'll be taking their daughters somewhere else, which doesn't help improve the girls side of the Bolts.
