I think the poster is right they must be bubbles. They are not going to take up space with kids they are already sure about.
Your daughter from MPS is not amazing at all compare with the other girls sent by other club. There are some talents in MPS but the coach didn't send the right one, so all three of them didn't get callback to CT.

I think this a discussion between a MPS U14 parent and a Seacoast U14 parent?

I think that Seacoast is not part of this discussion.I really doubt that any of their kids even went to the NH training.MPS maybe but there are better in this state, that aren't going to Ct either.

I watched the boys last night. Really enjoyed watching. The soccer was impressive. One of the things that I found quite interesting was the disparity in physical maturity amongst the group. I was standing and talking with a mother from CT who pointed out some of the high profile players. I have all girls and have no idea who is who on the boys side. Almost universally who she pointed out were the larger, faster players but, the bulk of what was on the field I would consider to be small and quick. I found myself wondering if the smaller kids really had a shot and whether or the larger ones where really large and fast enough. Got to be frustrating to be a boys parent at this age.

Had a good view for the girls group. They made us all go to the parking lot but I got a parking spot right next to the field. Boys was I lucky. I stayed warm while everyone else froze. There were 28 girls there. There were a lot from the host club and Beachside. The rest it was kind of hard to tell their club affiliations because they were generally bundled up and I didn't recognize their uniforms. Most of the girls appeared to be pyhsically developed so I would assume they were mostly freshman.

I really enjoyed the soccer that I watched but I was somewhat surpised at how light some of the technical ability was. I thought that the group as a whole was actually pretty homogenous. The players I picked up on were generally the more physical and soccer savvy. You could really spot the freshman who had varsity experience because they were running through players. I saw a couple of kids with great speed but none of them really did anything with their speed. No one really made any plays or set anything up. It generally was just a lot of individualism. Over all I would say that I saw a lot of really good soccer players but I'm not sure if I saw any real dominant ones. That said there were at least 4 7th graders from Mass in that group. While I didn't think any of them set themselves apart from the other players, none of them embarrassed themselves either. I thought that they all fit pretty solidly in the group, which I think bodes well for them.

My daughter has been invited but it was conflict with club's tournament, so she didn't attend this training. It is possible she will be invited again? Where is the location for next training?

The word we got was that they were really going to narrow down the group invited to Boston to only those who had a chance to make the '96 team. I don't know about any other players but mine is not expecting to be invited back. Overall this was an interesting experience for her. It was obvious to her just how thin the margin of difference gets as you travel up the competitive levels. As she said, "boy they were good". Best wishes to everyone moving onwards.
