Can anyone tell me if a team that is registered and a member of SRI ( soccer RI ) can enter MA SC if they meet the 50% MA residency requirement. Only asking because there are teams that belong to MA Soccer that are on the border and have 50% or more RI players. These teams have entered RI SC in the past but SRI will only grant 5 releases to an out of state team now which will effect SC I'm RI.

1. All players must be age appropriate.
2. All players must be properly registered with Mass Youth Soccer.
3. All players requiring international clearance (including children born outside of

for Cup qualification purposes shall be declared ineligible for Cup play.
11. League rosters:
For U13-U15, can not exceed 18 players at anytime.
For U16-U19, can not exceed 22 players at anytime.
12. Cup roster must not contain any player who previously has been on a “frozen”
2010 State Cup roster anywhere within the United States
13. All coaches/managers (maximum of 4) must be registered with Mass Youth
Soccer and have a valid pass card.Comment

If a team has 50% or more of its players residing in a state, the must play in that state's state cup. that's based specifically on USYSA policy regarding their National Championship Series.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post
But, with SRI's new rules, you'd be best off contacting USYSA directly to get a straight answer. I've asked SRI and Mass Youth Soccer officials this same question and can't get a "for sure" answer. SRI really put no thought into the ramifications of their new rules.Comment

no, other way around, a MA registered team like New england wave, will only be able to roster 5 RI players which will knock them out of RI SC. Several RI based teams are actually registered in MA (the rules are more lax in MA for eligibility) but carry close to 100% RI players on their rostersOriginally posted by Unregistered View PostComment
