I get what you're saying, however the team had plenty of other scorers. ME, CS, JK, BO'R, just to name a few. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to think that the decision was a good one because the team won the CMass title again, which many would argue was a foregone conclusion anyway, even if JS was not on the field (because his skills in net plus the strong d would nullify the strength of other teams' forwards). So the main reason he was on the field as a striker was to win Algonquin a state championship. The team didn't even get to the State Championship game. It's just not as clear to me as it is to you that this was a "very smart move by the coach."

All NE at striker - for goals scored? How many did he get against Fitchburg, where Gonk won 10 or 11-0? That's the problem. If you're playing against weak teams, you score a lot. Not sure that recognition means too much in the grand scheme of things, to be honest with you. Although good for him, and hopefully it will help him with his future plans.

By the way, same goes for FM from Leominster - tons of goals scored against very weak teams. You've got to look at context.

CC survives to win 2-1. Nipmuc gave them all they could handle, 1-1 at the half, game winner off a corner kick. Nipmuc hit the post almost tying it, that was it.

"survives to win" What does that mean? That you are a Nipmuc fan. But it also means "wins" as in Nipmuc loses, or doesn't survive, I guess. How about "Congratulations to C-C for their back-to-back state title. Congratulations to Nipmuc for a great run" ?

Please keep your comments inside of the Gonk bubble.

Where on god's green earth is that Eastern Mass blowhard now!!!???
Right here. Of the six state championships, EMass won 5. Too bad about Div1 Boys; Ludlow has been the most dominant team for years. Oh BTW, the ONLY region of the four to win 0 is CMass.

Point taken. Hey, but a kid from Shrewsbury won the state X-Country title!

Are you gonna claim emass as one region? If there is a wmass and cmass than there is a north and south not an emass. Nice try. How many got there from each of the FOUR regions, cmass led the way with 4. 3 of the 6 final games were one goal games despite the desparity in school size with north and south school div's being much bigger than there west and central counterparts. Nothing to be ashamed about their showing vs the bigger schools.

It's been said over & over. The competition is crap. No way to adequately prepare for the good teams.
