Amazing what playing for pride can do for a team. Just got tired of being considered second-best, I'm sure. Congrats to Leominster.

Have to remember the Leominster #10 and #7 did not play vs Gonk the first time. #7 was strong and fast last night for Leominster. Best two players I've seen vs Gonk this year, yes Im a Gonk parent, are #7 for Leominster at outside mid and #8 for Wachusett at outside defense. FM was nothing the first game against us but was very good last night. We were outplayed.

Even the MPS kids were outplayed? (Just kidding...)

Haven't been able to attend the Leominster games, but I did watch Wachusett at Algonquin and I agree on #8 - he was absolutely fantastic. JS couldn't get past him at all.

Wow, how many Puma kids do they have? Thought it was only 3 or so. And one of them received a mention for excellent play in the MWDN. I guess they get relied on a lot. Way more MPS players on that team. Surprised they didn't have any impact whatsoever on the game. Too small, maybe?

A lot of former PUMA kids on Leominster also (FM, AT, JM)

PUMA was the best. Never should have merged with Eagles.

I wouldn't be too worried about this score. Bad games happen to everyone. What I'd be more concerned about (if Algonquin thinks it has any shot at being State Champion) is the L-S/A-B game score of last night. L-S won 3-2. And A-B beat Algonquin 2-0.

I'm sure KM is looking closely at his team building methods. He opted to drop a number of strong Juniors this year in favor of a few small MPS kids (and one big one), and while the team's done well in weak CMass, my guess would be that they're heading for trouble in the post season.

This year's JV team apparently only has one club player, which is a real departure from the past, although the freshman team has a few (including some MPS kids, and KM likes MPS) so it will be interesting to see what the Algonquin V. team looks like next year.

Algonquin will not be competitive with the best EMass teams. They are an above average kick and run team with one good offensive player and a solid defense. It is a down year in CMass and they may get through, but then it's over.
