The Bays are overall the top Region 1 club, alongside clubs like PDA. It would have been surprising if NEFC could top them, man-child or not. MA clubs - boys in particular - have little chance against the top region 1 clubs to the south. Last year, no MA team advanced to nationals. The other posts here from the girl parents illustrate why - the mentality up here is just too stupid to build the best teams.

Perhaps, however this NEFC team defeated some prominent non-mass teams such as Beachside, Manhattan Barcelona, DUSC, Oakwood... Although I don't doubt the quality of a team that the Bays have, especially given their pull of their regional players, however.....5-0 is way more than I would have expected.

fact check - PDA is in central New Jersey, the New Brunswick area. The area has a number of population centers but also a lot of farms (grew up there). It's no denser than eastern MA for sure.

PDA draws players from Pennsylvania (Philly area), Staten Island and most of North Central New Jersey. Take a look at hometowns on their rosters. Try again.

I hope you are referring only to the boys side because there are a number of excellent girls clubs in the greater Baltimore area that are NOT the Bays. 2 of the clubs are represented in the regional finals: U-13 (Parkville) and U-14 (SAC). Parkville especially has very good teams in the younger age groups (U-11 on down). Congrats Maryland girls! Way to represent!

There are definitely more club opportunities in Mass but it looks like Seacoast Teams are, for the most part holding their own! Even the U-18 boys who were ravaged by the development academy won their game yesterday.

Seacoast B u18 beat YMS xplosion- nationally ranked #3 but miss the semis on goal differential!! Nice job men!

The drive from Philadelphia to the PDA fields in Zarepath NJ is about 2 hours without traffic (and probably 3 hr in rush hour). To get to Zarepath from Staten Island would be far worse, unless you come in by helicopter. If you're in Staten Island or Philadelphia, there are other equal clubs, like Red Bulls. So, those 'hometowns' you found on the roster are not in PDA's turf.

If you want to lump NY and PA in with all of NJ, then sure, PDA has a big population to draw from. But then to be honest, you have to include CT, RI and NH in the population for eastern MA teams.

If you're talking boys then I'm not sure. Most of the teams have links to separate websites and certainly the girls teams do draw from the area described.

Many of thos eparents know a lot about the game. The difference in MA, is that parents think they know a lot about the game, or they regurgitate some sound bite or stereotype they heard from someone, of they are too lazy to take a few minutes to do some of their own research and reach an informed opinion of their own. That's what makes this forum a joke.

First, calling the play of two MA teams -- who were into semis and one already in nationals -- shameful. Do you think shameful might have been too strong a word??? And You suggested that this shameful play would at some point "get them." Like "get them" where? at the junior world cup championships? Where exactly? Your barometer for shamefulness needs to go into the shop for repairs.

Then you suggested that catty parents talk somehow contributed to MA teams not "getting past stronger R1 teams." I take it logic and coherence are not your things. But you went further....after these insults you then had the audacity to suggest that "let's help each other instead of tearing each other down." Wow! Could you contradict yourself any more???

And then the above...that parents in ENY and NJ know more than MA parents about the game. Based on what data???
