Looks like Inter is teaming up with 11V11 Soccer (former partners of Score at the Shore) to help bolster interest and support for a Mother's Day College Showcase Tournament at Devens.

January 24, 2008 News Release:

11v11 Soccer and Inter Bandits will start a New England Showcase on May 10-11, 2008 at the Deven's Field Complex

It has always seemed strange that there is no elite event in the New England area. Part of the reason has been lack of quality fields. We have found a beautiful 13 field complex less than 30 minutes from Boston. The management group does not allow teams to practice
at the facility so the fields are in great shape.

There are 62 college soccer programs in Massachusetts, 20 in Connecticut, and 26 in Maine and Rhode Island.

We've picked this weekend because most Universities are still in session and spring ball is over. Sid and I are in the process of getting commitments from programs to attend the event. We expect to publish a list in early February.

The event will be 3 games, two on Saturday and one on Sunday.

Well it's about time! A College Showcase Tournament in NE! This is a smart move for Inter and a great way for local teams to get college exposure to schools they have a greater interest of attending.

Sunday the 11th is a Maple league day, so either teams will have to forfeit the maple games, or inter has to schedule potential maple teams games around their maple games, or inter has to schedule the maple games as a game in their showcase.

Great idea!!! Congrats and good luck getting this going.
