A lot comes down to the sensitivity of the person. I remember one game in which my daughter's team was disposed of pretty easily by the other team. Afterwards, the coach addressed the team and one of his gems was "you played like a bunch of Barbie dolls". There is some contention with that quote because others remember it being "would you rather be playing with your Barbie dolls?". While this did not bother my daughter or me, there were plenty of other parents and players who were quite upset with this.

Yes he did, and so did your mother.

When their opponent began to return some of the physical play one of his players must have complained to him because he came back with this gem. “You are getting beat by a better team so shut up and take it”. If this was U-17 it might have been amusing but 7th graders?

Lots of Yankee hats and sweatshirts shuffling off the field at the end of the game.
I had the "pleasure" of being in the same hotel last year as a U14 Premier soccer team from Newyorkachusetts. Really nice weather and it was very relaxing being at the pool just doing nothing for a whole afternoon. That included the time while the team was there, having fun being teenagers and then the parents showed up. I left after listening to these folks put down everybody and everything at the tournament they were attending. Especially Vinnie Boombats with the gold chain about how the team was going to kick some effin A!!!!! Well they musta gotten knocked out quickly. The parents hauled the kids out of the hotel the next day (Sunday) and hightailed it by 9am. Too bad because the kids seemed to enjoy the pool (it was in the high 80's with 100% sunshine) and hotel more than they did the soccer. Nice vacation. Not.

Newyorkachusetts? Cujo, your insight into politics is brilliant. This must have come down from the White House and Obama Nation. Merging these two states makes absolute sense since they'll both be broke once the health care bill is in full operation (or sooner).

As far as putting everyone down, look who's calling the kettle black.

Actually I love NY'ers. Some of my best friends are from Lon Gisland and Da Bronx. Really.

              BTW - NYachusetts is CT.......

But being a Red Sox fan nothing raises my hackles more than a NY Yankees cap, a Bronx accent, and a gold chain.

Ok then.. As long as you're beating up on NY and CT, you are forgiven (this time).
