Correct. Furthermore, coaches will be trying out new formations and player combinations. It's also a showcase (if any coaches show up) so playing time will be spread out fairly evenly.

The point that I was making is that it is premature to make any sort of assessment. You might see individual improvement with touch at first but it will take the kids a couple of weeks to acclimate themselves to size of the field after a couple of months of indoor and futsal so you won't be able to tell much about overall team development.

The odds are certainly with you on that one! The good brackets and playoff setups don't hurt either.

I think most parents would like to see what a winter's worth of training will produce!!!!

The training will likely help, whether you are a good enough student and observer of the game to notice it is a completely different thing. It often shows up in the little things that casual observers don't notice at first. If you are looking for your little angel to score a hat trick and consider that the true mark of progress I suspect you will be disappointed. If you can appreciate a smart pass into space, a nice trap or such then yes I think it will show itself.
