Doesn't mean they shouldn't have ODP etc, and regional teams in the U14/15 age groups, and the coaches should take a look.. What's wrong with the current system is they're focusing attention on, and sticking with some kids that just aren't the best.
    you make a very good point. At the younger ages, there is too much discrepancy between good players who do or do not not mature as quickly as others. By 17 the playing field is largely leveled and a more accurate evaluation can be made. Many of these early selections to regional and national pools are very hard to rationalize
