I would think Explosion might edge WU or Scorpions for 4th spot

explosion would have to beat scorpions and/or WU to stay in the fourth position, and I cant imagine that happening. In the last nine months they've lost a 4 goal decision to Western United and a 6 goal decision to Scorpions.

Big week for Stars, Explosion tonight, Eagles thurs(as per maple site) Fuller sun. They will be lucky to get 4 points.

These kind of posts just be ignored. I would put anything on this not even being a Stars parent. Same with many of the other posts that claim to be parents of certain clubs. The Fuller hamlets thread on u14 is probably not a FH parent either. That is the problem with this forum. You can make anyone look bad if you really want to.

I don't think you read the MAPLE web site carefully enough, however. The way you seeded the teams for the tournament seems off.

For example - Group A = Seeds 1, 7, 10, 16. Right now, SF Vikings are leading Green. That would make them seed 6 and put them as second seed in group D. I think its just about a mathematically impossibility that SF Vikings would drop to 5th place in Green which is where seed 10 is slotted.

No it just means that the division is top heavy.

Stars will win out, that means extra losses for Fuller and Western.

Scorpions will win out, that means extra losses for Fuller and Explosion

Western will beat Explosion.

Fuller will beat Explosion.

Thus:

Scorps 7 - 1
Stars 7 - 1
Western 6 - 2
Fuller 5 - 3
Explosion 4 - 4

less to do with parity in the division than timing in the schedule.

I would have to think that they would use the same groupings as they do for the Andre Cup which are: {from the Maple By-Laws}

The teams will be divided into four groups as follows: Group A: 1, 7, 10, 16; Group B: 2, 8, 9, 15; Group C: 3, 5, 12, 14; Group D: 4, 6, 11, 13. Each group will play a round robin. The group winners and runners up will play quarter finals as follows: A1-B2, B1-A2, C1-D2, D1-C2.
