Region I Premeir is led by one individual..This individual selects without any recomendations which teams play in Region I Premier..Jersey Knights Fire, Commack SC, Bruno United, and a few other joke teams get in...Or how about this one--PDA Scholes a brand new team with no record and no former PDA players gets in...lol...This moron needs to go...Three teams were let in based on his friendships with members of there respective clubs and another got in just to spite the Delco people whom he hates...This guy is a disgrace and the sad part is that USYSA led by Rob Martella support this guy..An alternative to USYSA needs to emerge and give this some balance--And anyone that knows Mr. Palmiero other then his immediate croonies will tell you what an arrogant and self absorbed individual that he is...Its supposed to be about the kids and for the kids..

Only a few bids are automatic--most are at large and that means whoever kisses this guys A-- gets in.Jersey Knights admin person did scheduling for Region I South last year and is a good friend of Palmerio. That is how that team got in and PDA Scholes--new team with no history got in for two reasons 1.Palmieros relationship to one of there people and 2.Delco had a team up for it and Palmerio hates the Delco people and this was his way of getting back at them and Palmerio also left out a new team with some good showings named JBS FC and that was done as a favor to Lonny Unger a 20 year friend of Palmeros and Ungers team FC Westchester is the JBS rival so they are trying to squash them with the help of Palmero and Salter--President of New York..Thats the politics of it..Comment

Interesting discussion. If these alleged teams aren't qualified, isn't he just a half year away from being embarrassed on his own actions anyway. At this level, if there are teams that dilute the quality of this league, aren't most of the deserving teams going to move on to a better place? I do not know any of the teams you mention and whether boys or girls. You don't name the teams that you believe are deserving so the readers in the know can decide for themselves. Isn't the bloom off the rose anyway in Region 1 as far as the boys side is concerned and now that the academy system is in place? The following clubs will not be participating at U16 nad U18 and probably U17 as they can do Red Bull. So what is the original poster referring to. U14 and U15?

I recall a similiar complaint last year about the placement of teams on the boys side. I think I originally saw the discussion in the Got Soccer forum and posted it in the old MAPLE forum. At the time I did an analysis of the teams rankings. If I had the time, I'd go back and see how those teams faired in the league; however, I can't even seem to find my original posts on the subject and with Christmas just 2 days away, I just don't have the time to dig into it any further. It all depends on who applies as well. For example, one might expect to see the Blast in the U15 group as state cup champion and region 1 semi-finalist. And as semi-finalist, they would have one of the automatic spots. One can only assume then, that they did not apply and don't want to play in the league. Why not explain to us all how the Jersey Knights Fire got in?
How about a team with no record whatsoever, PDA Scholes? Shouldnt you first have to win a game as a team before you are put into the Regions supposed number one league?
Or how about Commack FC and Massapequa?
What wrong with questioning that Einstein? My guess is that you are from one of those teams that did get in..The league is a joke and anyone in the game knows that Palmiero is a joke..What many want is a change where there is qualification standards that have to be met for a team to get into the league- so that this can be fair and balanced and that kids are not hurt because of one individual that looks out for his friends and croonies..Comment
