So other than the Mighty Hoppers, which teams are playing futsal
over the winter?
If you are really interested in finding this out then go hang out on Saturday and Sunday at either of the two Forekicks, The Park School in Brookline, Belmont Hill, or Revere High. You will see well more than 20 clubs that have their teams playing Futsal
I don't know who runs it, but the Stars are involved in it.
I know they did it in previous years, but its not listed on their web site. Anyone know if its going on this year and if so, is it open to non-Stars teams ?
Many north shore clubs and players participate in the futsal league at American Futbolito (www.americanfutbolito.com) in Danvers. There are some registered club teams in both the girls and boys divisions. More often than not, club players jump on to more than one team and/or play up, participating in several matches each week. Unlike other facilities, AFC does not post results or standings. And if a team arrives short handed, in most instances the coaches will balance it out offering better matches rather than blow outs. Fun plus player development are at the core of AFC.
I don't know what people's opinion of Futsal is, but having seen both of my sons play it, I would say that it possesses all the excitement, skill, speed, and scoring to make this form of soccer entertaining for American non-believers.
