How are All State, All New England and All American players chosen? Who initiates the selection, coach, AD, league? Are there different governing bodies for public and private schools and the various divisions?

It all seem so confusing. If you listen to the sideline rumors, it seems every team has an "all-american".

All star teams are already picked in central mass. ( league, cmass, all state and all new england). League teams pick league. The cmass and all state are done by each division at the central ma coachs meeting. The coaches get together submit names based upon league selection and pick as well as debate who gets on. The all New England selection is done by all division coaches and is debated and voted on. Central mass only gets 3 all new England and mass as a ehol only gets 12 including prep schools

The first set of All-star teams come directly from each League. They all have some form of all-conference or all-star team. How they are selected, and how many players are chosen is unique to each league, but all of the leagues in E Mass have a connection to the EMHSCA, Massachusetts Coaches Associaltion and ultimately the NSCAA. It is a rather confusing process with a certain amount of secrecy and politics do play a role as some coaches carry more sway than others over the colleagues. There are also many all-star teams that go with the regional and local newspapers (and I guess the national Parade All-Stars). How each paper selects their particular all-stars is there own business. The most pretigous are the Globe and Herald All-scholastics. Chosen for E Mass.

CMASS all stars from Millbury were older Perkins, 2 Nasuti sisters and 2 Ronan sisters. All State selections were older Ronan and Perkins. Also heard Ronan was nominated for all NE but don't know if she made it or not.

Unfortunately for Millbury, they are always going to be associated with the pancake fiasco of last year, whether directly involved or not.

NSCAA All region teams ,including all new England boys and girls, have been selected already. Only NSCAA all Americans need to be picked. Central mass had 3 boys and three girl all new England selections.
