wrong, he didn't mention the Bolts who think that because they were regionalizied in the Blue division that it is the best division. They are going to have a rude awakening this spring.

How is Maple going to get only 8 teams into the Blue division in the spring ? Is it only going to be the top team from every division and then the 2 second place teams with the most points?

The Bolts don't have two teams, and the one team they do have has only lost one game this season. Just like all the divisions, the blue division has three very competitive teams, about four in the middle, and 2 or three that are getting crushed. I doubt the Bolts will leave the blue in the spring, but I do think blue will be a very, very competitive division compared to previous years.

Just look at the number of ties and upsets among the top 4 in each division this season. The Andre Cup should be very interesting.

For the remaining 32-34 teams, it would appear orange, purple, and white is the new red.
On the girls side, I would definitely say the same is true. In each division the top 4-6 teams have all beaten or tied each other so there is some parity and on any given weekend any of those top 4-6 could beat any other. After the top 4-6 it seems to fall off pretty quickly.

Just as an example look at U11G Purple. Pioneers M beat Pioneer G and Western United, but Pioneer G beat Western and lost to Soccer Domain. Soccer Domain beat Pioneer G and tied Western United. Napoli lost to Western and Pioneer M but beat Soccer Domain. Who wins on any given day, who knows.

As it stands, I think the Bolts have to win this weekend to even have a shot at being in the Blue division. Does anyone know what the selection process for the Blue division is?

If it is just the top team from each regionalized division and the next 2 best records then hats off to both AC Arlington an Western United for fielding 2 teams each in the Blue division in the spring, at least that is the way it looks right now. The other 4 teams will probably be FC Blazers, NEFC, SF Vikings, and probably the Bolts. That looks like one hell of a tough division. The Green division will have its share of great teams also. It looks like you could almost have 2 Blue divisions. It will be interesting to see what Kathy does. All you parents that have kids in this age group can expect to see some very competetive games this spring. This will be great for this age group in the years to come.

They won every game except last weekend, and this weekend is against a team that has been beaten by teams they soundly beat. It will be a long shot if they don't stay in Blue. Of course, their coach is a class act, so they didn't run up the score against the weaker teams like the other two strong teams in Blue. Behaves like a grown up on the sidelines as well. He's teaching sportsmanship as well as soccer. It can be done.

Forget the girls side already. This is a boys thread. Isn't 99% of this forum enough for you????

Staying in blue is a little misleading since the divisions were regionally based, so the blue division assignment was geography based, not merit based..... ;-)

If the team is at the top in Blue then they stay in Blue and are joined by the top teams from the other divisions for the spring season. Nothing misleading about it. They just happened be put in Blue for the fall season.

Yes, he should have been more thorough, mentioning MPS even being allowed to play in Maple at all after losing to JP "mom and pop ice cream" Licks.

Still no answer on how the Blue division will be decided. Is this going to be something new because of the amount of teams or is there some set method to the madness? If anyone with some knowledge about this can jump in it would eliminate alot of speculation.
