I haven't seen the US/Norway game yet, but did watch Germany against Brazil. What a great game! That is what women's/girls' soccer should be. I heard DiCicco comment before the game that both teams are equally skilled and that it would be a contest of flair against organization. That seemed a good descrition. One of the things I liked from both teams is that they choose to change the pace of the game from time to time. They weren't always running at each other playing that high pressured game we see in the US. Hopefully the results of this World Cup will help change things for our daughters. And maybe even our sons. ;)

Germany & Brazil: Terrific game all around (also well-referreed). Nice, nice soccer. Outcome is what I expected, Germany is a polished team, Brazil a little too gritty this game.
US v Norway: Excellent finish, nice to see some of the subs in there doing well also. (Also as noted in another thread, nice to see the US team show they actually DO have some skills). -
... anybody that knows anything about the game knows that Hope Solo could have saved both German goals! :D
Germany did a much better job helping on defense against Brazil than the US was able to do. They always seemed to have a covering second defender while the US kept getting beaten in 1 v 1 situations. Agree that it was a really well played game and that Germany deserved the win the title. Amazing to keep a clean sheet through the whole World Cup tournament.Comment
