AB has a "short bench" so they are forced to play the stars for the full game. No room for JV players at this time of year. Also, the coach needs to make sure the stars get their individual stats boosted.

Brock scored 7 goals in two games against Waltham and Bos Latin. The AB short bench forced her to boost her scoring totals.

That's as many goals as the DCL's leading scorer (St. Martin) scored in the first 13 games.

Where does she promote her own kid over others. In the article she highlights are so many kids have stepped up after her daughter's injury. Probably mentions at least 5 other kids.

What's amazing is that you don't get it. She doesn't have to promote her kid. Her kid is an exceptional player and achieves her own success. HS soccer is not where the college coaches have been watching her play over the years. She, her club teammates, and other club players play HS soccer for fun! I hope your kid does too.

Read the article again. It is supposed to be about the team. Writing about her daughters injury is one thing. Instead we learn about her daughter's personal conversation with the Amherst coach (who the coach/mom for some crazy reason decides to name! I'm sure Jen Hughes, the Amherst coach, will be pleased that mom/coach/recruit decides to quote her) regarding her commitment. By the way, as has been written in other parts of this forum, Nescac schools don't give verbal committments. The coach cannot guarantee/promise anything. This puts her daughter in a horrible position if she's not accepted.

I don't actually see any quotation marks which would indicate no one was being quoted. Perhaps the writer was taking some artistic license here trying to pull (create) a story together. I am also seeing EN listed as team captain and that's certainly not true. Do you think the coach forgot who the captains are? Well it's in print so it must be true.
