Coach T was ripped off. There are many teams that got accepted that aren't as good as NEFC.

A little due diligence would show you they are in as FC Puma. Only team from Massachusetts.

Look at Mathman's ratings. FSA, Richmond Strikers and more are rated below NEFC.

Come on it was long shot in the first place of them getting in. Think of the money saved!

Not only is FC Puma not on the list - there are other teams from Massachusetts. What are you talking about?

Probably only the pleasant Mass surprise was the Renegades getting in at U16. That puts three Mass teams in at the age group. Nice job. The next important thing is placement of your games. There are 76 teams accepted at U17. Only the top groups play at the Wide World of Sports Main facility. That will likely be the USYSA NL and top ECNL teams. For the U17s, most coaches will go to see specific players, although they prefer to stay at the main site. For the 15s and 16s (yes they go watch 15s) it is a big difference between a game at the WWS and one of the out-lying sites.

They probably could have been accepted as they do have a higher gotsoccer and MM rating than some of the accepted teams, however politics does come into play (past appearances, club name recognition, coaches/clubs connections.....) I am surprised that only Stars A (ECNL) and Scorps A teams were accepted from MA. Rovers? The fact of the matter is that Eagles probably have only 2-3 players that could play for a D1 program, and as was mentioned in other threads, 90% of the girls who do play in college will end up playing in their respective regional areas. They will have plenty of opportunites to attract college coaches locally(CASL & PDA), and will save them a lot of $ by not travelling to Disney and playing in the lowest bracket. I have been to Disney and it is probably the most expensive tournament when all is said and done ($15/game to watch your kid play!), not to mention that it is spread out over 4 days, and how can you not go to the theme parks etc.,?

CASL is in Raleigh North Carolina. The flight might be a few minutes shorter but not really local by most standards.

With that many teams, Disney certainly will be hauling in the cash. But with that many teams, doesn't the prestige of the tournament kind of get diluted?

But the cost is substanially lower in airfare, hotels, and car rentals.

True but it is not local and not even in the same regional area, which was the point I beleive.
