NEFC parent looking for info on this MAPLE division. There are a couple of teams that I have never heard of. Does anyone have an idea as to which teams will be strong or weak?

You haven't heard of these mostly start up teams because as a former Scorpion parent you never had to lower yourself to play them. But now that you have gone to the supposed Soccer Mecca and the promises just aren't materializing, you're stuck having to share the same field with them. Go ahead and have fun winning every game 10-0. And then ask yourself, Is the grass really greener?

Looking at the NEFC Website it looks like the former Scorps team is in the Red group. So good job at taking a real question from some random parent and turning into another ranting Scorpion thread.

Certainly can understand the discussions surrounding Stars, Scorps, MPS as for girls, they are the top clubs. NEFC?

Top Clubs are clearly the following:
Stars, Scorpions and MPS for girls.
MPS and Bolts for boys.
These are the tier one clubs. Period.

Before the merger NE Eagles and Aztecs were doing well and getting better on both boys and girls and clear leaders of the tier two clubs. Apparently there is mixed feelings about what NEFC (NE Eagles and PUMA merger and a good deal of former scorpions coaches and players) will be like and where it is headed and what impact it has/will have had on the Scorpions.

The rest of the clubs in MA are decidely tier three or lower, most with only an age or two doing well, despite what Western, Blackwatch, Blazers and many others would like you to believe.

And please, no responses about state cup wins..... that's only a part of the story of a club and development of players. you need to assess tournament activity, regional play, length of season (training and games played) and overall success of the clubs, their teams and overall state, regional and national rankings. On this level of assessment no one competes with the four clubs noted a tier one above.

So why does it seam like if your not with one of the top clubs you are doomed on this board?

As long as the players are having fun and developing, I see nothing wrong with not being a part of a "Top Club".

A innocent question was asked at the start of this thread. Looking for predictions not bashings.

My prediction is the Soccer Domain. I saw thier U17G team play in the spring and liked the style of Soccer that they were playing.

Oh, just so I do not get bashed I am not a Soccer Domain parent as I live and coach in the Eastern part of the state.
