My point is that some time ago I came in here to make a few reserved comments about what happened when we left Stars, etc and I was dragged over the coals for doing so.

Theres a double standard in here.

It's nice that someone was trying to be helpful on this forum. As for the parent who is completely pleased with MPS, that's terrific. The forum is about sharing ideas so well done.
The cost misinformation is way out of control. 2nd teir DOC's working hard here..Truth is If you look at # of training days , camps, equipment, games, depth of lic coaches with playing experience, and tourneys. I think you will find MPS and Eagles are right in line.. if you consider paying 1 dollar less for less , cheaper? than you are probably correct.. You dont grow as fast as some of these clubs do if you offer bad value.. this is exactly why the crap clubs are getting squashed or merging.. rather than improve your club maybe trashing the others will help keep your margins fat for now but you too will have to upgrade what you offer.. people arent stupid

So until the day comes when the people with the open check books start to question costs, this is the way it will be. In these peoples minds the costs of club soccer V the potential reward of getting there kid into a top college, is like what you would tip a caddy to gain membership to the country club! And thats the reality of it.
This is more interesting then your Days of our lives soap opera. The thread is about club feeS. You can always start an official soap opera thread Such as AS MY WORLD TURNS!

Started a very expensive DAP program at year younger than the Revs Academy. So if they want to get those potential Revs Academy players into the Bolts Academy instead, they have to hand out a lot of scholarships.(Revs is free) Very, very expensive scholarships. And don't forget the scholarships for younger Bolts players as well. About 2/3 of the fee the full paying players hand over should be considered a charitable donation to a scholarship fund. At least you could get a tax credit!

The best way to compare club costs is the session by session cost rather than the annual costs. Once you have that number, then you can compare quality of coaching and facilities.

If anyone has this info., could you please share it here? I have been writing checks to various clubs for years. I just wrote the biggest one yet. I have no idea what I'm really paying for to be honest. All the coaches have been good and my kids love the teams, but as far as value goes in real terms, I'm totally in the dark. Lots of club PR hype, but I've near seen a break down that made sense.

Before you sign a check, you should be able to determine the number of times your team will practice during the course of the year (Twice a week? Three times a week? Spring and fall only? 10 months a year?) the number of tournaments you will attend, the number of league games you will play and if any camps or clinics are included (MPS apparently includes a camp in their fees. Scorpions might also) Then divide your club fees by that number to get a per session cost.

If a club can't tell you in advance your playing/training schedule, then this might be considered a red flag that the club is not organized. If they tell you the schedule and then don't keep to it without good reason, then you have a reason to be a dissatisfied customer.

yeh right, like you really know what your kid's per session fee is. If you're so smart, please do a little breakdown per sesion for each club here so we can all take a look!

This person is like the majority of us who write the check without really giving it much more consideration than where the team plays and how long it's going to take getting there. Determining per session cost is a good way of looking at the expense for those who want to look a little deeper.

It doesn't matter what the club tells you in the fall, it is not necessarily going to be the case in the spring when it's time for training. Case in point is MPS "Saturday sessions" which are nonexistent when games and tournaments are all scheduled for Saturdays. And don't give me the line that games are better than training, if they say training then it ought to be training (then supplemented by games). I'm sure there are similar examples elsewhere.

Is anyone out there willing to take a shot at this? Can you break down this for your club and show us how you did it? Is there enough info. on club websites to glean together what you need to really break this down? Bolts, Stars, Eagles, Scorpions, MPS -- strong on the girls or boys side --any info.?

The post that was replied to had nothing to do with "per session". That post was: "...I have been writing checks to various clubs for years. I just wrote the biggest one yet. I have no idea what I'm really paying for to be honest...."
