We are moving to MD in November and will be looking for a 2011 competitive girls team. We are looking to settle in Carroll County of that helps. Any suggestions on teams that have a good player/coach environment that also develops the player? She probably could make a top team, but the atmosphere is also important.

Tough location! Freedom Soccer Club and Coppermine West are the “Clubs” in Carroll County. I don’t know the coaches but Freedom has parent coaches a lot of the time.
As for ECNL/GA, you are going to be stuck driving an hour to any of them no matter where you live in Carroll. Baltimore Armour, Pipeline, and Bethesda would be the three you have to choose from. Pipeline probably has the best coaches of the bunch. Bethesda is rumored to have abusive coaching (don’t know if true) and Armour is struggling across most age groups.
Good Luck!

Thank you! I will most likely see if their our any open practices
we can attend during the winter to get a feel for the environment. I may also try to take her to some games to see the coaches sideline behavior.

We live near CC and are with Pipeline. I honestly believe we have one of the best coaches in MD with Coach Wynne and a very tight knit fun team with great parents! If you leave your contact info I’ll reach out to you. Cheers!

Give a look to the 2011 Baltimore Celtic GA team. Great coach and off to a good start this season.

Coppermine E64 G2011 team practices in Carroll County and competes at a high level and emphasizes a possession-style game. That may be a good option to check out.
