I have a lot of due diligence on Gas station franchises. There is a very slim margin on gas. Gas stations make margins on food and beverage, lottery, propane tank refills, etc. Biden clearly failed economics. You would think he would have someone in that White House with a clue. Did he really say oil companies? Or was this his quote? Oil companies don't "run" gas stations. They also don't set the price at the pump. Indirectly, since they sell gas to gas stations, you could argue they do, but the guy or company that owns the gas station decides the price they offer gas to the public at. Obviously, what they set the price at is dependent at what they buy it for. Biden specifically said the companies running the gas stations, not big oil. He (or in fact, whoever tells him what to say on a daily basis) knew what they were doing. Plus, we are not at war. Biden's administration want to use war time acts to control Americans. Biden has made it perfectly clear, the uS is not at war with russia. He doesnt want to upset Putin as he knows Putin has no fear of him.
