We could have been sitting on hundreds of millions of $ worth of useless vaccines. The rollout has been a mess with many millions of doses promised to states not yet received. Hard to plan rollouts at the local level when states can't get an answer on when and how much they will get. All Trump cared about was the headline - vaccine by year end - not how it was all going to happen. That's his MO - go for something loud and quick, no details, no followup. He sure has had time to go golfing and GA rallies though.

I read your link. It said that the U.S. government entered into a $2 billion contract to buy vaccine from Pfizer if Pfizer successfully produced the vaccine. It said nothing about the U.S. government giving any money to Pfizer to underwrite the research and production.

The government merely entered into a contract with Pfizer which greatly benefits the U.S. since it now has a supply for it' citizens -- but the U.S. paid far more than other countries. Thank you Donald Trump.
